Half Day Winter Canoe Trip

There is nothing like the feeling of having a river to yourself...

During the winter, once the crowds have left, the river is quiet and peaceful. Listen to the wildlife and the splash of the kayaks as you paddle along this beautiful stretch of the River Thames.

The Half Day Winter Canoe Adventure is approximately 3 hours long and group size can vary from 2-12 people.

We meet at Petersham Meadow steps on River Lane, Richmond, where you will get to know your highly experienced guide and the rest of your group. We will go over canoe safety, route and conditions and you will get to know your canoe.

We will be paddling 'up' and 'down' the river and all around the islands of the Thames. While you are resting, watching the birds and river life and taking in the views from your kayak, your guide will tell you stories about the life and nature of this part of the river.

We will stop at a lovely riverside pub, The White Swan, for you to maintain your energy levels for paddling.

Suitable for all abilities, this easy-going paddle passes through idyllic Surrey countryside, with a pit stop at a traditional 17th Century pub where the tide laps the garden tables. Bask in the sunny garden or hunker by the log fire, before drifting back downstream to your start point at River Lane.

For this trip, it's not necessary to have any previous experience. 99% of our guests never kayaked before.

This is a short but fun filled experience for everybody!
