Propel yourself along the Medway for a Champagne picnic by the river, or moor up for a gourmet lunch prepared by local foodie heroes.

Grab your paddles for a slow adventure in our open Canadian-style canoes. With two or three people in each boat, this is a scenic and sociable way to travel. From pub trips along the backwaters to wilderness wild camps, all of our canoeing adventures are within easy reach of London.

The Self Guided Canoe Adventure from Richmond

A self guided adventure for couples, families or up to 24 people, is a great way of getting into outside spaces and to explore a little closer to home.

Pack up a picnic and take a towel with you. A swallows and amazons adventure awaits you!

You will be supplied with buoyancy aids, which must be worn on all of our activities, beautifully stable open canoes, paddles and a dry bag for your needs. A guide will provide a briefing on land before you journey into the Back of Beyond…. You may paddle between the iconic Richmond Bridge and Teddington Lock. Take the time to explore the islands and riverside jungle as you go.

Equipment is cleaned between every session.

The 5 hour Self Guided Canoe Adventure from Richmond

For when two and a half hours is ‘simply not enough!’

Hop aboard our open Canadian-style canoes for a fun and sociable canoe trip along the River Thames. Suitable for all abilities, our friendly instructors will guide you through the basics before launching for an easy-going paddle to an 18th Century fishermen’s pub.

Dip into the history of the Thames as you paddle past Eel Pie and Swan Islands, before mooring up at The Anglers in Teddington – a thriving, family-friendly Fuller’s pub where you can sip real ales and tuck into a gourmet lunch while the kids hit the playground. Hunker by the fireside or bask in the sunny garden before canoeing back to Petersham.

Alternatively, pack up a blanket and some of your favourite food and drink for a riverside picnic to remember. You could then take the plunge for a wild swim if you dare.

Picnic & Bubbly Canoe Trip on the Medway

Experience the thrills and spills of the weirs and waterways as you paddle
along the Medway on this scenic and sociable trip in shared Canadian-style
canoes. After a briefing with our friendly instructors, mosey along the Medway
through the ‘Garden of England’, keeping your eyes peeled for kingfishers,
water snakes and otters.

Suitable for all abilities, there’s plenty of time for rest by the riverside, with tea
and cake for elevenses and a Champagne lunch at our picturesque picnic
spot. You can even refresh yourself with a wild swim before meandering
further through the Medway jungle and tackling a few more weirs before a
well-earned drink at the Anchor Inn in Yalding.
