Your wellbeing at Back of Beyond Adventures
At Back of Beyond Adventures, we believe that safety and enjoyment can co-exist together.
We have spent 2022 enhancing the Back of Beyond Adeventures experience so that it is the best it’s ever been, at a time when you need it most. You probably won’t even realise most of these things are going on during your adventure and, well, that’s our hope. It is our goal to make you feel as normal as possible and to give you the most memorable paddle experience you have ever had, while, behind the scenes, keeping you safe and well.
Our people, both our guests and our team, are our utmost priority and we will never compromise on our responsibility to keep you safe. For your peace of mind, we want you to know specifically what we are doing.
Health is wealth
All guests of Back of Beyond Adventures are required to report any signs of illness. Anyone with a fever, showing signs of illness, or exhibiting virus symptoms will be advised to see a doctor immediately and asked to leave. Similarly, our team members, are required to do the same.
Open-Air Social Distancing
Back of Beyond Adventures was designed to feel like your private paddle experience and, even in normal times is the place to be when it comes to social distancing. Our environment is in the outdoors, so we relish the opportunity to spend as much time in it as possible and welcome you to join us as usual, but would ask you to adhere to social distancing guidelines and to avoid close contact where possible.
Welcoming you to your adventure
We have slightly tweaked the way we welcome guests in order to keep contact minimal. Payment is taken during the booking process, ahead of your adventure, so all we will need to do is take a look at your Health Information form and Waiver in order to check you in, once you arrive.
Each of our adventures has a staggered start time at 30 minute intervals to reduce the number of people coming into close contact at any one time. if you have checked in and it is not quite your start time, we would ask that you find a nice place to sit and watch the world go by until we are ready for you.
We have enough space to brief 6 groups, so the maximum number of people our team will be briefing at any time 36 people, but it is much more likely to be 8 to 12 people. Either way, this means fewer people than you are likely see in a supermarket!
You will be offered a dry bag for items that you wish to take with you (for example phones, wallets and additional clothing). The capacity of our dry bags are 10 litres so you could take a few things with you.
We would encourage you to arrive ready to participate and to leave anything else at home or in your car, if driving, but we will of course store your bags in our vehicle at your own risk if needed.
Your equipment
After every use our canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, paddles, PFDs and dry bags are cleaned and sanitised before their next adventure.
Until next time
On returning to River Lane, simply bring your PFDs (buoyancy aids), paddles and any equipment, except for your boat or board to the team for them to start the cleaning process. You can then retrieve any belongings that you have left in our vehicle. We will email you after your adventure, trip or lesson.
Keeping up with the times
The safety measures we’re following mean that some of our services and amenities may differ from what is listed online. Please call or email us with any questions or to receive the most up-to-date details. Please know that whatever the circumstances, we will ensure your Back of Beyond adventure and wellbeing is never compromised.
